When you get your sanction number please forward it to us. The new system will be more part of the way the tournaments are displayed online. There are links currently to our tourneys (except for the Sterling which is full) for entering online at Playnsa.com.

Your spot will be saved on the list up to 14 days before the tournament. If you do not have your online roster done at that time and there are teams on the waiting list they will be given the opportunity to take your spot. If your roster is able to field a legal team you will have up to 10 days before the tournament to submit payment. If not received your spot will be released. Canceling between 10 days and release of the schedule will subtract $100 from the refund. Withdrawals after the schedule is posted no refunds.

The Passing of a Visionary: Hugh CantrellNSA/BPA Founder

Passes Away on February 25, 2025

It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we share the passing of our founder and visionary, Hugh Cantrell. Born on August 14, 1937, in Johnson county Kentucky, Hugh spent most of his life in the place he loved on the diamond, and in 1979 he met the love of his life, Faye. In 1982, Hugh and Faye laid the foundation for what would become a life-changing organization for countless athletes—the National Softball Association. Built on the principle of being *for the players, by the players*, NSA provided opportunities for tens of thousands to compete, grow, and create lifelong memories. Twenty years later, in 2002, Hugh expanded his vision by founding the Baseball Players Association, further shaping the future of amateur sports. Over the decades, thousands of athletes of all ages participated in NSA and BPA events, leaving an indelible mark on the game. Hugh’s passion for the sport and its players led him to create the NSA/BPA Hall of Fame in Nicholasville, Kentucky—a place dedicated to preserving the legacy of the game and the people who made it great. I remember when I first met Hugh and Faye back in 2013. The first words he ever said to me was “man I love your passion and I want to work with you.” I loved working with Hugh and his passion for the game that I love. After 35 incredible years, Hugh and Faye decided it was time to embrace retirement, entrusting their legacy to Bill and Kathie Horton in 2017. With a deep respect for Hugh’s vision, Bill expanded the NSA and BPA brands while staying true to the original mission that started it all. Quoting Bill this morning: “Kathie and I would like to send Prayers to the family as we lost a great man. He meant a great deal to me as a mentor and teacher in my softball journey.”On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Hugh Cantrell – who did so much for so many – closed his eyes one last time and took his final rest. Though he is no longer with us, his impact on the world of softball and baseball—and the lives he touched—will live on forever. His vision, passion, and dedication to the game will continue to inspire generations to come. Rest in peace, Hugh. Your legacy is eternal.
